چکیده
Mode-converting metasurfaces are passive, lossless devices that can be designed to transform a set of incident modes desired transmitted modes. In this paper, mode-converting utilized synthesize arbitrary, azimuthally-invariant TM apertures. The methods presented in work used design antennas meet specific near-field and far-field criteria unlike most which solely manipulate the far field. proposed consist coaxially-excited, radial cavity topped by metasurface. main role metasurface is establish aperture converting modal distribution excitation aperture. Its secondary impedance match coaxial feed cavity. Using network theory, an optimization-based procedure developed antennas. admittance profiles electric sheets comprise optimized profile. To illustrate procedure, Gaussian beam antenna synthesized at 10 GHz its performance verified using full wave electromagnetic solver. has height weight advantage over horn

Antenna Array Design in Aperture Synthesis Radiometers 169 Antenna Array Design in Aperture Synthesis Radiometers
During the past few decades, there has been growing interest in the use of microwave and millimeter wave radiometers for remote sensing of the Earth. Due to the need of large antennas and scanning mechanism, the conventional real aperture radiometer becomes infeasible for high spatial resolution application. Interferometric aperture synthesis was suggested as an alternative to real aperture rad...
متن کاملMetasurfaces for High Directivity Antenna Applications
There has been a lot of study published in literature on the improvement of the performances of microstrip patch antennas. Most of the solutions proposed in the past were to use an array of several antennas. The particular disadvantage of this method comes from the feeding of each antenna and also from the coupling between each element. Other interesting solutions have then been suggested: the ...
متن کاملFrequency-Reconfigurable Stacked Patch Microstrip Antenna Using Aperture-Coupled Technique
This paper presents a novel structure of a frequency-reconfigurable microstrip antenna fed with an aperture-coupled technique and stacked patch technology. The proposed antenna design has a unique structure; the radiating elements (top and bottom patch) are sorted in stacked substrate layers to indicate the different operating frequencies. One PIN diode switch integrated at the feedline is reco...
متن کاملPhase Only Synthesis of Antenna Patterns Using Iterative Restoration Methods
In this work, the method of iterative Fourier transform phase reconstruction, conventionally used in holography and optical image reconstruction, is applied to phase only synthesis of antenna patterns. The method is applied to two types of pattern synthesis problems: "main lobe beam shaping" and "side-lobe-level reduction". The proposed method is most useful in the efficient employment of attai...
متن کاملAntenna Aperture Localization for Arrival Time Correction Using First-Break
For microwave imaging systems that utilize antennas with spatially separated feeds and apertures, arrival time correction based on the antenna aperture location is one of the fundamental steps in radar data processing. The estimates of the antenna aperture time and the corresponding average velocity in the material in contact with the antenna are expected to have a significant impact on the qua...
